SPONSORSHIP

As we welcome 2010, I am heartened by the wonderful things that have come to be. Our united efforts have really made a difference, and I thank you.

  • The community garden fed many families, and we will do it again this year.
  • The Navajo rug sale has begun and will continue, with weavers receiving 100% of the sales of their rugs.
  • “Widening the Circle,” A Celebration of the International Day of Peace, and Harvest Fest / International Day of Climate Action were successful gatherings, and we are committed to doing them all again.
  • Our peace initiatives continued to grow as we welcomed Sami Rasouli, founder of the Muslim Peacemakers Team.

These are just a few of the ways our combined efforts made way for Kindness.

In early 2010, we will welcome Fode Camara of Guinea, West Africa and Helen Bond of Motherland Rhythm Community, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving the traditional rhythms and community spirit of West Africa. We always find new ways of having fun.

In June, we will begin an educational project on the Navajo reservation, “Building a Hogan.” This endeavor will unite our volunteers and Navajo men in learning the traditional style of home building of the Navajo. Weaving classes will also be offered on the reservation through the Daughters of Navajo Weavers, led by traditional Peacekeeper, Annie Kahn.

We are committed to offering ongoing classes in sustainable living, and to helping local people in need, particularly children.

Most significantly, we are working with like-minded organizations to advance the possibilities of peace. Look for wonderful offerings toward this end.

This is a glimpse of what has been and what will be.
With your help, there is no limit to what is possible.

Keep up with the events calendar and the volunteer page.
